26.5 million for “Apocalypse Now,” by Christopher Wool,

'Apocalypse Now' original painting by New York artist Christopher Wool was created in 1988. Last Tuesday it was sold for $26.5 million at a Christie’s auction house post-war and contemporary art sale.

The original has been exhibit at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed museum for a long time when a former director at Guggenheim Museum’s  pulled the painting and decided to sell it.
